mid september

It is actually starting to feel like fall here in the city – besides a few pleasantly warm afternoons. I finally bought some tea from Mariage Frères - I picked up Thé à l’Opéra and Marco Polo. Next time I think I’ll get Rouge Sahara. Apple season is also upon us and I discovered these beauties at my local market, they are called Pink Pearls. The color was such a surprise I decided to make a little tart. Once baked I love that the apple slices look like flower petals.

The talented and lovely Emma visited me earlier this week from London by way of Sweden. For a few days, we explored the city and became fast friends. I can not wait to plan a trip and visit her in London so she can show me around to her favorite spots in her city.

my housemate lauren hadn’t really been to the mission much so last monday we went after our first class of the semester. we browsed lots of stores and had a late lunch at tartine. i found some great photos at the apartment and the racquet and camera at thrift town. i shot a roll of film while i was there, so i’ll post the photos this weekend when i get the prints.

today my brother and i drove back to san francisco, ending our very long winter break. lunch at pea soup anderson’s, lots and lots of rain and huge beautiful clouds along the I5, we had a snowball fight at a rest stop, and i think the highlight for paul was seeing the oscar meyer weiner mobile!
