mid september

It is actually starting to feel like fall here in the city – besides a few pleasantly warm afternoons. I finally bought some tea from Mariage Frères - I picked up Thé à l’Opéra and Marco Polo. Next time I think I’ll get Rouge Sahara. Apple season is also upon us and I discovered these beauties at my local market, they are called Pink Pearls. The color was such a surprise I decided to make a little tart. Once baked I love that the apple slices look like flower petals.

    Nice pics :)

  2. Such pretty pictures. I picked up pink fleshed apples like those at the farmer’s market the other day and didn’t know what they were called! Just discovered your blog today… we both live in San Francisco so these pictures are extra special to me :)

That tart looked amazingly scrumptious! You wouldn’t mind sharing the recipe? Is it a flaky pastry bottom or something a little bit more biscuit-flavoured? Thanks for the continually great posts …
